Finally after a lot of paperwork going backwards and forwards, having to provide certified divorce certificates from previous marriages, current marriage certificate and a Declaration in front of a JP stating that I have been known by other names ...... we finally got our FHOG!
Still all that mucking around was worth it to get the $15,000 we can put towards the build and we are very thankful for it.

Windows all in and Ducted Air Conditioning being installed
Taylor and I called past the house today on the way back from Nambour. As the Chippy and Electrician were there working we stayed back and just took a couple of photos. The windows have now all been put in and the Electrician was there installing the ducted air conditioning.
The Chippy thought that the building wrap would be going on pretty soon. Good to see the continued progress - the chippy mentioned that they were all flatout getting as much done as they can before the Christmas shutdown!

Windows Delivered
It was a nice surprise to see that the windows and timber stacking doors had been delivered sometime this morning ..... all ready for installation!
The builders weren't onsite today, so it was good to have a proper walk around with the roof on. Taylor took one look at the roof and said "Wow it's sooooo beautiful!" ..... too cute!

Roof Battens on .... ready for our roof now!
I called into the site today just before a huge storm hit and still the builders were working away on our house putting the roof battens on.
The weather forecast for the next few days isn't too bad, so we are hoping the roof won't be too far away.

Nissen Family Tradition ..... Dinner on the slab!
In keeping with the tradition we formed when we built our last house in Christchurch, tonight we picked up Pizza and Chips from Pizza Capers and had our dinner on our concrete slab ..... our first meal in our new house!
Since our visit on Thursday, the builder had put some some safety railing up on the roof ready for the roofer to begin work next week. Fingers crossed the predicted storms will blown themselves out before then!

Roof Trusses, Gutter & Fascia
We had our first on-site meeting with Phil, our Site Supervisor today. He seems very nice and even more important ..... very organised! It was good to be able to walk about the house and ask questions on things were weren't sure on.
The roof trusses all appear to be up now and there was a guy on site installing the gutters (Colorbond Evening Haze) and fascia (Colorbond Jasper). The internal feature window from the study to the kids play room plus the bath frame has also been installed. They are hoping to get the roof on next week ..... weather permitting.
We have been lucky with the weather until today when we had our first real storm around lunch time (up until now the storms have been at night so haven't affected site works). The chap installing the gutter and fascia said he was held up for a short time while the storm passed and then was back into it.

Roof Trusses going up
We visited the block again today and the roof trusses are now underway.
We also meet a man from a pool company onsite to discuss options. He is going to provide us with a quote and we just need to decide now exactly where we want to sited.
We also bought our first piece of art for the house which will be for the kitchen/ dining area.

Frames are up!
So the frames are up and we can finally begin to really see the shape of our house take place. It was fantastic to finally be able to walk through the rooms and get a sense of space.
The girls were very excited to see where their rooms would be and Taylor took great delight in pretending to knock on the front door to come for a visit and of course check out the toilets!!!
