Entry and Pantry Doors in!

Hubby visited the site today and found that the house is locked up!  Our beautiful pivot entry door has been put in and they have locked the internal entry from the garage.

Through the windows he also saw that the pantry doors had been put in and also some of the other internal doors.

Our beautiful entry pivot door - will look even better once the bricks are rendered

Gyprock complete and plastering underway

After being told my the Building Supervisor that the Plasterers had a backlog of work, I was surprised to see them arrive on site today.

This will be the last time I see the house before going overseas and it actually felt quite sad leaving!  Will have to rely on hubby to keep the photos coming .... although I imagine there won't be a huge amount more happening this side of Christmas.

Lights Purchased

This week has seen the purchase of our lights - LED's throughout the house.  More expensive to buy but more cost effective long term with a bulb life of around 20 years!!!! .... Looking forward to NOT having to replace a bulb for a VERY long time!

We have also purchased our pendant lights for above the breakfast bar.  Originally we had planned to put in three separate lights, but really liked this bar style of feature light instead.

.... and for something completely different, we loved this feature light for our entrance way.

We are slowly getting there with our purchases - just have to now sort out the fans, fluro lights for the laundry and garage, heater/ fans for bathrooms and external spotlights.

We have decided to add another couple of external lights to the front of the garage and dimmers to the living and media.

First Home Owners Grant (FHOG) Approved!

Finally after a lot of  paperwork going backwards and forwards, having to provide certified divorce certificates from previous marriages, current marriage certificate and a Declaration in front of a JP stating that I have been known by other names ...... we finally got our FHOG!

Still all that mucking around was worth it to get the $15,000 we can put towards the build and we are very thankful for it.
